Welcome to all
Kit Tillotson is the contractor for trenching and installing conduit on our part of the project. Last year, he had completed Cougar Run and Marten up to High Country. Weather at Lava was in the 80's over last weekend and Kit plans on getting started on going down Little Buffalo, onto Marten and ending at the north end of Marten where the power is already installed. Kit will start about Memorial Day.
Kit indicated that he will still honor his bid of $2.00 per foot to trench down onto your property from the road unless it is really steep or diesel takes another big hit in price. Kit's phone number is (208)251-5829. I think that he is going to be one busy guy for the next several months. You need to schedule with him as soon as you can.
Just a short review:
1. this power project will deliver 3 inch conduit to your side of the road, where it will be capped and marked so that you can find it at a later time. It will be buried about 3 feet deep and if your power run to your property parallels the main power conduit, it would be cost advantageous to use the existing trench.
2. I am going to check with Whitehead Electric (801) 394-1657 (Jim Strank) to see what is the best cost that he can provide for an electric service pedestal for your lot. You can get either a 100 amp or 200 amp pedestal. I think that it would be best to just call Jim for his best price for your application. Remember that you do not need to install the meter when you install the pedestal. Once the meter is installed, there is a minimum monthly charge from Rocky Mountain Power.
3. Sherril Tillotson is the Rocky Mountain Power person to contact about where to locate your service pedestal. Her phone number is (208) 776-5598 extension 11. She will also get real busy soon.
4. If you have a cabin close to the road and you can install your electrical meter on the road side of your cabin, you might not need to get a service pedestal. You have to coordinate that with Sherril.
Hopefully, Rocky Mountain Power will be ready to start immediately after all of the trenching/conduit is installed. This would mean that power will be delivered to all road side transformers by the end of July. (I hope that it is sooner than that.)
We have $63,700 left in the bank account, plus a $10,000 advance for road excavation that the Association required us to pay (total cash left to finish project is $73,700). We have purchased all of the materials we need and just need to trench and install the conduit. We should have some extra 2 and 3 inch conduit available at cost when we finish the main project.
I am including attachment on how the money has been spent. It is a text version of an excel program that everyone should be able to see.
If you have any other questions, please give me a call. (435) 723-7728 or send me a email. Also let others know about what we are doing, because not everyone has email.
thanks, Glenn
